Chickadee Reclamation Services grew out of a family farm-based business and started with contract tree planting projects in 2010 for two central Alberta coal mines. In 2012 we began managing all of the reforested areas at Genesee Mine, near Warburg, Alberta. Our company expanded further in 2013 when we were asked to develop and implement a reforestation plan as part of the mine closure plan for Whitewood Mine, near Wabamum, Alberta.

We now offer a complete suite of services for reforesting sites after industrial disturbance. We have also expanded our expertise in collecting and processing native seeds. This includes both contract work and collaborative research with NAIT Boreal Research Institute focused on improving shrub seed extraction procedures and developing systems for direct deployment of native forest understory seeds.
